CHP - Combined Heat and Power, also know as Cogeneration, is an independant power and heat generation system which can be located directly on site where it is needed.

CHP gives the end-user control over their own power and heating supply, instead of relying on an expensive and inefficient electrical grid and outdated heating sources like gas and oil boilers.

Electrical power generated by a CHP unit offsets the consumer's consumption of electricity from the grid, resulting a reduction of both operating costs and carbon emmissions. The thermal energy produced can be used for heating, domestic hot water preparation, and various process requirments.

Futhermore, a CHP can be connected to an Absorption Chiller to provide power, heat, and cooling as required. This orientation is called Trigeneration.

CHP is a highly efficient system which  takes one source of energy in the form of gas and converts it into two sources of energy in the form of electricity and heat.
